On 14 October 2026, women from across the South Burnett came together at The Firebreak, near Maidenwell, to celebrate International Rural Women’s Day at Connected by Country.
Hosted by RRR Women in partnership with Red Dirt Social and Ground & Grow, the evening was an opportunity to connect, share stories and celebrate the women who contribute so much to our rural communities.
A highlight of the evening was a fireside conversation featuring South Burnett Mayor Kathy Duff, Beck Cross and Lynda Lange, facilitated by Melanie McNaughton. Together, they shared their experiences of living, working and leading in the region, and the people and places that have shaped their journeys.
The event was proudly supported by Powerlink Queensland, South Burnett Regional Council and Stanwell Corporation, alongside generous local businesses who contributed to the evening.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make Connected by Country a wonderful celebration of rural women and the strength of community connection.
