Meet your guest speaker – Denise Ryan

Hear from the Warwick Rodeo and Show Society Management Committee Show Chairman Denise Ryan on a bit of behind the scenes insight into what it takes to host such critical events in regional Queensland communities, plus how a passionate and dedicated young volunteer like Denise is highlighting the valuable contributions of the state’s agricultural industry.

Denise will share her experience as a young professional in agriculture, helping us celebrate Rural Women’s Day.

About Denise:

Our guest speaker, Denise Ryan, was born and raised in Longreach. She was actively involved in the agricultural show movement from a young age and developed a strong commitment to community engagement. Denise and her family moved to Warwick when she was a teenager where she now lives on her mother’s family dairy farm.

“Community involvement continues to be a key priority for me. I am currently serving as the Show Chairman for the Warwick Show and Rodeo Society Management Committee. Alongside  this role I am one of  Sub-Chamber representatives on behalf of WSRS, where I am committed to inspiring younger generations to uphold traditions like the agricultural show movement.

“I was honoured to be the 2020 Showgirl runner-up and the Warwick Rural Ambassador in 2021 and 2022. These roles sparked my renewed enthusiasm for agricultural shows.

“My passion for these Ag shows doesn’t stop with the Warwick Show, I am involved in many ways from Ekka to small country shows. Additionally, I am passionate about enhancing community welfare and addressing mental health challenges among vulnerable populations.

“Professionally, I work at Rembiz: Bookkeeping and Financial Fusion in an administrative role and also handle marketing for a local contractor. I am enthusiastic about educating others and highlighting the vital contributions of the agricultural industry, emphasizing the journey from production to the table.”
