Connected by Country in the South Burnett

October 14 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

An evening celebrating the women, stories and connections that make the South Burnett strong.

This International Rural Women’s Day, come together with women from across the South Burnett for a relaxed evening of good conversation, connection and celebration.

Connected by Country is a local gathering of rural women; a chance to step away from the everyday, meet women from across the region, hear some inspiring stories and celebrate the communities we call home.

Hosted in partnership with  Red Dirt Social, Melanie McNaughton, Ground & Grow, and RRR Women, the evening will feature a fireside-style panel conversation with a diverse group of South Burnett women.

We’ll talk honestly about rural life, the people and places that shape us and the importance of connection. There’ll be plenty of time to connect beyond the panel, too with a relaxed cocktail-style setting, drinks at the bar, delicious nibbles and the opportunity to meet women you might not otherwise cross paths with.

Whether you’re farming, running a business, working in the community, raising a family, building something new, or simply calling the South Burnett home, we’d love to see you.

Most of all, let’s celebrate the women who show up, pitch in, look out for one another and help make the South Burnett the place it is.

Meet the women behind the stories

What does it mean to live, work and lead in the South Burnett? Join us for a relaxed fireside conversation with three women who know rural life from very different perspectives: Mayor Kathy Duff, Beck Cross and Lynda Lange in conversation with Melanie McNaughton. From farming and community leadership to health, advocacy and volunteering, our panellists will share honest stories about the people, places and experiences that have shaped them, and what keeps them connected to the South Burnett.
